It's not as easy as one may think. That tank sat empty with just water and sand for 2 months while the water went through the cycling process. Any less and it would kill the fish right off. It's also a spendy project. Right now my budget allows me to spend about $150 a month, and with the price of parts that's not very much.
As you can see, it's got two power filters running, a heater and a powerhead. That powerhead is far too weak for that tank, but it's better than having nothing at all to circulate the water. For those of you who don't know, a powerhead is a water circulator. It's pretty much a requirement for SW tanks. I'll be purchasing two of
these babies on the next go around. They're pretty much one of the most recommended powerheads out there and found at that price, it's pretty much a dumb shit move NOT to buy.
